Once the heart of Cornish mining, Pendeen has all essential amenities for visitors. Within walking distance from St John’s House you’ll find a grocery shop, three pubs - The North Inn, The Radjel, and The Trewellard Arms - fish & chip shop, tapas cafe Maria Chica, and the famous Trewellard Meadery, serving delicious food and local mead wines in a unique setting.
Also within walking distance, is Pendeen Watch lighthouse, the wild Land’s End way stretch of the South West Coast Path, Geevor Tin Mine, part of the Tin Coast where you can experience what life was like for Cornish miners, plus Botallack, and Levant Mine, areas which were both recently featured in the hit BBC series Poldark.
Pendeen is also the perfect location to explore west Cornwall from, with beautiful landscapes surrounding the area. Nearby are the likes of Cape Cornwall which is also home to a stunning golf club, England’s most south-westerly point Land’s End, the magical St Michael’s Mount, open air amphitheatre The Minack Theatre, the picturesque harbour town of St Ives, and Penzance which is home to the magnificent open-air art-deco lido, the Jubilee Pool.
